Every Night Cat Sneaks Over To His Neighbors’ House For Sleepovers
When the weather is great, John and Alex Sanders enjoy keeping their door open to enjoy the scenery. They were lounging indoors with the door wide open about six months ago when a cat appeared out of nowhere, said hello, and made himself at home.
John Sanders told The Dodo, “He simply came in like he owned the business.”

The pair looked at the cat’s tag and learned his name was Tigger, so they called his family. They discovered Tigger, who lived one street over and was quite the neighborhood adventurer, resided one street over from them. Tigger was reunited with his family, and the couple assumed their problems were solved – but Tigger had other ideas.
Sanders stated, “He came back the next day and every day thereafter.”
Tigger now sees his new closest buddies on a daily basis, generally twice a day, and frequently returns for sleepovers. Tigger’s original family has pretty much accepted that he’ll do whatever he wants, and he’s picked the Sanderses as his second family for whatever reason.

“Tig’s self-imposed routine is as follows: It used to be solely at night between 9-11 p.m., and he would spend the entire night. When Alex went to buy coffee, she would let him out,” Sanders explained. “Now that we’re home during COVID, he visits between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m., and he still stays overnight.” There are days when we don’t see him, but they are few and far between. ‘We always see him twice a day,’ says the narrator.
The couple initially attempted to educate Tigger to return home to his family at night, but soon gave up and decided to just allow Tigger to sleep over whenever he pleased. They’re always listening for Tigger’s meow, even while the door is shut, so they’ll be ready to welcome him in once he comes.

“His parents have stated that Tig simply does what he wants, and that he has picked us,” Sanders added. “They’ve stated that they’re just glad he’s warm and secure and not out on the streets.”
Tigger continues sneaking over to their house for sleepovers and hang outs, and the couple has no idea why, but they’re very thrilled about it. They adore Tigger and consider him a member of their family, which Tigger would not have it any other way.
