Furthermore, integrated logistics support engineering will be provided to sustain the operational readiness of the MRCVs throughout their lifecycle.

The vessels will be developed locally at ST Engineering’s facility in Singapore. Delivery of the first unit is scheduled for 2028.

According to ST Engineering, the Singapore Navy’s future MCRVs will function as a mothership to deploy manned and unmanned systems.

The vessels are expected to possess maximum combat capability on various naval missions once employed in the service.

“This contract affirms our capabilities to design and build large and complex naval vessels,” ST Engineering Marine President Ng Sing Chan stated.

“The new MRCV will harness the ‘multiplier effect’ of digital technologies, to meet the RSN’s requirements for faster, more efficient operations.

“It also demonstrates our commitment to support MINDEF in the area of design, construction, operations and support.”
